Volvo 2012 plug-in diesel-electric hybrid vehicle

Volvo and Vattenfall have just announced that they will develop diesel-electric hybrid vehicles jointly. First, to create three cars will be completed this summer, and its vector is the Volvo V70, mass production is expected to close in 2012. Vattenfall is a Swedish energy giant; they will charge devices and zero-carbon emissions-electric hybrid plug solution. Other on-going with the Volvo hybrid project also includes a launch in 2011 ReCharge idea car.

Technically speaking, this plug-electric hybrid car is interesting. It will use its lithium-ion batteries stored 11.3kWh by 71 percent of the electricity to drive the rear wheels of about 50 km driving distance. Then, with the diesel engines it will take over behind the work of front-wheel drive to provide the impetus for it. This battery charging time is about five hours, but only with the ordinary household power. At the same time, this car is also equipped with brake energy recovery system.
